Osko by BPAY Pay and get paid faster

Osko, created by BPAY, is the user friendly system we’ll all use to send and receive real-time payments using the NPP.

Whether you’re paying a tradie, splitting a bill or giving money to family for something urgent – the money will be there in seconds. Osko will be integrated seamlessly into our Internet Banking and Mobile Banking App, allowing you to make real-time payments 24/7.

What’s not to love about Osko?

  • Faster payments across 50 institutions – and more to come
  • Available all day, every day – even weekends
  • You can use a PayID to pay and get paid with something simple like a registered mobile, email or ABN. Or you can still use a BSB and account number
  • It’s backed by BPAY and us, so it’s very secure
  • You can use 280 characters of text to describe who’s getting paid and why.

Introducing Osko

Introducing Osko by BPAY

Osko and PayID

  • If someone knows my PayID, can they use it to commit fraud?

No, as a PayID is only used to receive funds, not send them.

  • Can someone else register my details (mobile, email) as their PayID?

Only the owner of the device can register it as a PayID, as it will require Authentication in the form of a code sent to the phone number or email address provided to complete the registration.

  • What if I send the money to the wrong person?

There are processes/procedures in place to deal with “Mistaken Payments”, if you have made a mistaken payment you need to call Credit Union SA immediately so we can attempt to recover the funds for you.

    Call us (08) 8202 7777

  • What can the New Payments Platform do?

    Key benefits include:

Speed the ability to make payments in real time, with close to immediate funds availability to the recipient.
24/7 availability the ability to make and receive low-value payments 24/7 outside normal banking hours.
Data enriched the ability to send more complete remittance information with payments.
    Simple Addressing

A system to more easily address retail payments to any recipient using their phone number, email address, ABN or organisational identifier.

Additional features will become available overtime with the development of new overlay services.

  • How do I know I am sending money to the right person?

PayID payee-validation functionality will allow you to see the short-name information of the person or business you’re intending to send money to, so you know your payments are going where they should.

  • Is the NPP safe?

Yes. Protecting our members' funds is of paramount importance to Credit Union SA. Payments made through the NPP will enjoy the same high levels of security which Credit Union SA is renowned for. Some of the protections in place include:

Factor 2 Authentication a two-step authentication process which adds another layer of security to your transactions. A unique code will be sent to your phone, or can be read from a VIP token, then entered into the relevant space where requested.
24/7 Fraud Monitoring Credit Union SA will ensure that all NPP transactions are monitored 24/7. You will be contacted if we suspect you have been the victim of fraud.
  • What do I need to be ready to make and receive faster payments?

    1. You’ll need to be registered for Internet Banking – call us on (08) 8202 7777 to register
    2. Make sure your mobile phone number and email address are up to date
    3. When the NPP launches use Internet Banking or our Mobile Banking App to make faster payments using BSB and account numbers, or a registered PayID

Using your Member Number to receive payments?

When the New Payments Platform launches, if you are currently using your Member Number to receive payments to your account, these may be credited to a different account than expected and any payroll splits you’ve set up with us won’t work.

So if you currently have a payroll split or have multiple Credit Union SA accounts receiving one or more payments by Member Number, action on your part is required:

To be ready for real-time payments, here’s what you need to do...

1.  Check if you have any payments coming from a payer(s) using your Member Number as opposed to your Account Number. Payment sources may include:

  • Your salary
  • Centrelink payments
  • Other forms of income
  • Any other funds which are regularly paid into your account

2.  For those payer(s) paying you via your Member Number, provide them with BSB 805-007 and your preferred Account Number instead.

3.  If you would like your incoming payments to be split across other accounts, such as your Home Loan or Netsave Account etc., then you will need to set up Scheduled Payments within Internet Banking from your preferred account nominated above in Step 2: select Transfer and bills > Pay member > Select date > Frequency > Set Schedule

Alternatively, if you don’t use Internet Banking you can call us on (08) 8202 7777 or visit your local branch and we’ll help you get everything sorted.
