Member Experience Team
South Australia’s third largest credit union, Credit Union SA, has announced that Chief Executive Officer, Grant Strawbridge, has elected to step down from his role after eight years at the helm.
Credit Union SA’s Chair, Carolyn Mitchell, advised that Grant will continue to lead the Credit Union over the next six to nine months whilst the Board undertakes recruitment for a new CEO to ensure a successful transition and continuation of momentum in the organisation.
Carolyn acknowledged Grant’s outstanding contribution to Credit Union SA having led the organisation through significant cultural and business change including a doubling in size to be $1.187 billion in total assets with strong new membership growth.
Grant has been instrumental in ensuring the organisation is financially strong and well positioned for the future with the implementation of the Credit Union’s strategic direction. This has been recently reflected in the organisation being awarded Most Reputable Bank and Best Customer Service in the DBM Australian Financial Awards 2019Carolyn MitchellCredit Union SA Chair
Grant will continue to work closely with the Board and Executive Management team to drive the strategic transformation and deliver an outstanding member experience.
“It is a sign of his professionalism that Grant has signalled his plans early to allow the Board sufficient time to conduct an exhaustive search for a new Chief Executive Officer,” Carolyn said.
“Credit Union SA remains committed to helping South Australians do more with their money and we are excited about the opportunities to continue to deliver outstanding member services in new, and increasingly convenient ways. We thank Grant for his drive and passion for our organisation and members over the past eight years and we wish him every success in the next stage of his career.”
Mr Strawbridge said he had thoroughly enjoyed his time leading Credit Union SA and acknowledged it was now the right time to move on and focus on new Board opportunities.
“The Credit Union has a rich heritage, a vibrant team of people and great members with our heart in South Australia, and I look forward to seeing the new CEO working with them and leading this great organisation into its next exciting phase,”Grant StrawbridgeCEO Credit Union SA
