Organisational values, when encapsulated in a snappy tag-line, can sometimes come across as just another "angle" - a cynical marketing tool. And when invented by an ad agency purely for their customer appeal, they are.
Our tag-line at Credit Union SA, however, "Knowledge counts", is a direct reflection of what's been important to us for over 50 years.
Sometimes that manifests in expected ways. For example, we're knowledgeable about the wonderful State we call home. Our branch managers, mobile managers and staff have local knowledge of the communities in which they work and live. And, of course, we know banking and finance inside-out.
But other illustrations of our passion for knowledge go well beyond the call.
We enthusiastically share our knowledge with members through newsletters, our Facebook and informative seminars. We support and encourage students and the education community at large by sponsoring awards and professional development conferences and forums. And our Social Responsibility initiatives often benefit schools and learning centres.
Ongoing learning is also promoted internally, with support regularly provided to staff undertaking external training and study.
Ultimately, we're here to help members make knowledgeable decisions about their banking and their lives. Because that leads to happier, healthier and more prosperous communities.
